Many students don't ever learn scales and chords, and those who do often aren't taught what they are for. Scales and chords are the ABC's of music. We'll teach you how to use them to write anything you want.

Improvisation is the ability to make up music extemporaneously. Music is an incredible outlet for teens struggling through the uncertainty, disappointments and conflicts of daily life. It is also a wonderful way to share joy, comfort, and excitement. The skill of improv. enables us to sit down and play whatever we are feeling!
Every song is written in a scale which is called a key signature. Once a student learns scales, we show them that they can mix the notes up anyway they like to make great melodies. Next, we show them how to add chords to blend it all together into a masterpiece! It's fun to hear listeners exclaim, "I can't believe they're making that up!"

Many wonderful melodies that we know and love have already been written.
Play your favorite song in any key, as simple or advanced as desired.
A musical arrangement is the adaptation of an existing composition. We can arrange any popular melody (a favorite hymn, soundtrack, or holiday tune) by choosing which chords and harmonies we want to dress it up with.
Right from the start beginners can take their favorite songs and add chords for simple arrangements. As students progress, these arrangements become more and more ornate. They can choose any key adapting to specific vocal ranges, and simplify or embellish any song!
